Message from Joseph M. Rifici, AA-C, M.Ed., Executive Program Director
I am pleased to announce the MSA Program's creation, a new off-site
location in Washington, D.C. The launching of a new program in our
nation's capital is part of our long-term goal to grow our program
while maintaining small class sizes, quality teaching, and high
educational standards. MSA D.C. will serve students in the Eastern
region of the U.S. and give impetus for the expansion of the AA
profession.
We are committed to continuing our legacy of excellence in
education, to training highly skilled and compassionate AAs, and now
to offering students access to one of the most vibrant cities in the
U.S.
Shane Angus: D.C. Program Director
On September 13, 2011, Shane Angus, AA-C, formally became Program
Director of MSA D.C. As an alumnus of the MSA program, Shane knows
firsthand the quality of the CWRU program.
Shane considers location to be one of the attractions of the D.C.
program. The new off-site location is in a cosmopolitan city, the
political hub of the country.
Shane was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. He received
his BS in Integrative Biology from the University of California at
Berkeley, and his MS in Anesthesiology from CWRU in 1999. Shane brings
with him to this position a breadth of experience in AA education and
expertise in training students to be spokespersons for the profession.
Faculty development has been a strong and ongoing interest of Shane's.
He is dedicated to supporting the professional growth of AA faculty
and improving the quality of instruction by providing training and
clinical instructor workshops.
Shane's interests include international travel and food. Before
attending Berkeley, Shane went to culinary school and considered
becoming a chef. We are proud to welcome Shane back to CWRU.
